White Nile is an independent oil exploration and production company focused on the development of onshore oil and gas projects with emphasis on securing resource assets in Southern Sudan and the immediate region. The Company aims to build and develop international and local partners, enable partners to collateralise their assets through participation in the Company through equity ownership and attract further international financial institutions by enhancing the assets in the ground.
In order to increase the value of the Company, White Nile has a comprehensive strategy in place by which to achieve its objectives of becoming a significant regional oil company.
The initial task is to confirm the oil reserves in Block Ba through a seismic and drilling campaign. Once completed, the Board aims to progress into production and develop the infrastructure to extract and convey oil to market. There is a focus on revenue generation for Sudan in both the short and long term, as well as a conscientious approach through the implementation of social, educational and training programmes to assist in the development of the region.
The Company will also seek to obtain full clarity of title of Block Ba from the Sudanese Government. There is a rival claim on Block Ba from French oil company Total who claim an agreement with the Northern Sudanese Government. White Nile’s agreement is with Nile Petroleum Corp and the Government of Southern Sudan, who control the territory where the aforementioned concession is located. It believes it has full title and is therefore progressing with its investment and development programme.
The Company is also looking to identify additional areas of exploration and advance its existing portfolio in Ethiopia in tandem with its partners.
